The MAXSURF development team is pleased to announce the release of Multiframe 2024 . This solution helps structural experts check the structure of their vessel to comply with class requirements and optimise it for strength and weight. It can be used for deck grillage, frame, superstructure and mast strength calculations.
Bentley Lifecycle Policy, version numbering and side-by-side installation:
Bentley Systems has made changes to the support lifecycle of desktop applications. One of the key changes is that major versions of Multiframe will be supported with critical fixes for at least five years, although users are still encouraged to update to each new version to benefit from new features that are added to Multiframe. The main change is that we will be moving to year-based naming for all products, thus this release is Multiframe 2024. The version numbering (MM.MM.uu.bb) changes slightly with now the first two digit pairs (MM.MM) indicating the major version number of the software; the next pair of digits (uu) is the minor update of that major release (if any) and the final pair (bb) is the build number. Major versions continue to be installed side-by-side on the same machine; thus “Multiframe 2024” (v24.00.00) can be installed alongside “Multiframe 2023”. Minor updates to a major release releases will replace the any existing installation with the same major version number; thus v24.00.01 would replace v24.00.00 but still be called “Multiframe 2024”.
License and Product tier consolidation:
From Multiframe 2023 onwards there is only one tier level of Multiframe which contain all features and capabilities. The License Configuration dialog will continue to be displayed when starting an application primarily for verification of the license status since there are no tier options to select. Furthermore, both Maxsurf and Multiframe have been integrated under the MOSES brand.

Bug fixes and minor changes
– 1198479: Fixed a typo in the AIJ Code Check Report for the formula of fb
– 1205105: A problem which prevented Bucking Analysis from converging in 23.07 has been fixed.
– 1207045: A problem which caused the copying of some large results datasets to be extremely slow (sometimes give the appearance that the application had crashed) has been fixed.
– 1245211: A problem which sometimes caused divergent results for shear stresses with P-delta analysis has been resolved.
– 1298424: A problem with the materials in the British section library has been fixed.
– 1335191: The maximum value of the legend in the Plot window now corresponds with the value set in the Plot overlay dialog.

These analysis options are complemented by a full range of analysis-related modeling tools like master-slave, prescribed displacements, springs, thermal effects, offset members, additional masses and much more. Other modules allow you to draw sectionshapes and install them in the sections library and perform design checks for a range of design codes. Multiframe Automation allows you to prepare design calculations in Excel and link them directly with your Multiframe model. An ever expanding range of design add-ons also allows you to simplify steel code checking and optimization.
